As The World Became Dark: Introduction

This is a story based off of a recurring dream I had. With its beginnings set in the early 19th century, this story reveals an alternate historical reality of the British empire, the early advancement of technology, a societal revolution, and an undetectable, seemingly sinister force that slowly spreads throughout the world.

 In this story, young Queen Alice, the first born daughter of Queen Victoria, has been crowned Queen of England upon the mysterious death of her mother. The new queen faces constant threat to her throne and her life, as dissenters plot to overthrow the British empire through uncanny, and possibly alien means. 

As her battle continues, she tasks her lover, Prince Alexander and his companions to investigate a suspected cult. This investigation leads the team all across the world, from the banks of the India river to the desert sands of Egypt. What they find, however, may truly be 'out of this world'...
